| Information Technology Services (ITS) serves academic and administrative technology needs campus-wide. ITS staff supports and enhances the technology resources available for students, faculty and staff engaged in activities that advance institutional goals. ITS also supports the network and communications server infrastructure for the entire campus.
The mission of ITS is to provide proactive, responsive, people-oriented technology, training and support in the areas of computing, instructional multimedia and networking. In partnership with faculty and the Technology Fellows program, ITS pioneers new learning technologies to provide quality educational experiences outside the traditional classroom or to enhance traditional learning environments. ITS operates and maintains the campus Local Area Network (LAN) and all centralized computing resources, as well as gateways to external wide-area networks, including the state telecommunications network. Network connections for individuals in the residence halls are also managed through ITS. SDSM&T is a participant in Internet2 and connected to Abilene through the Great Plains Network.
