STUDENT NETWORK ACCOUNTS at SDSM&T
You, as a registered student, are automatically assigned three (3) different computer accounts to aid you in your classes and overall education at SDSM&T. These accounts will remain active until the you have left the school, graduated or you violate the ITS terms and conditions agreement (guidelines). Here are instructions to FTP to your H: drive
| Fileserver/Network Account (allows you access to fileserver resources and printing services at PC lab machines ). | |
| Desire2Learn Account (allows you to access courses in this course management software; username is the same as the one you use in WebAdvisor) | |
| WebAdvisor Account (username and password are assigned by Datatel, so both could be different than your SDSMT account) | |
Your Username (login ID) for your SDSMT Network Account is your 7-digit Student ID Number located on your ID card (see picture below) Ignore the last number on your card. If you do not have an ID card, you can obtain your new ID card by going to the Debit card office located on the first floor of the Surbeck Center.

Your initial Password for each account is your birth date followed by your student ID number (i.e., mmddyyyy1123456) If you don't know your password, go to the ITS Help Desk located in the basement of the Library to have your password reset. You will need to show your ID card to reset your password, so please bring it with you!
You are strongly encouraged to change the default password ASAP to a password of your choice. We recommend you choose a password containing both letters and numbers for additional security (e.g. joe58s).
