| 1. If you have Windows XP you can enable the personal firewall to help protect your computer. For a detailed description on to do this please click on this link. 2. Update Windows!!! These latest viruses attack windows. To update your computer go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and install all of the critical updates. On Windows XP and Windows 2000 with SP3 have a feature call Automatic updates which can download the updates and install them automatically. This feature is located under Control Panel and then under System and then the tab Automatic Updates. Also the automatic updates places a little icon next to the clock in your task bar. It looks like a globe with the windows icon on it. For a more detailed description please click on this link . 3. Get or buy anti-virus software and install it on your computer and remove the virus. If the anti-virus software detects a virus and can't remove it, please go to http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/vinfodb.html#threat_list to lookup the virus you have and download the cleaning tool that Symantec has for it. 4. If you have Windows 2000 or XP make sure that the Administrator account has a password. To set or change your account's password, go to Control Panel, and to User Accounts.
