| 1. To set up a VPN connection with XP, double click on “My Computer” , then... |

2. Click on “My Network Places.”

3. Click on “View Network Connections.”

4.) Click on “Create a New Connection.”
|

5. On the “Welcome to the New Connection Wizard” screen, click “Next.” |

| 6. Click on “Connect to the network at my workplace.”

| 7. Click on “Virtual Private Network connection.”
|

8.) Type whatever you want to name the connection. (ie. SDSM&T)

9. Type “techvpn.sdsmt.edu” in the Host name or IP address box.

10. You should see a screen labeled “Completing the New Connection Wizard.” Click “Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop.”

11.) Go to your desktop and click on the “SDSM&T” connection icon. The screen above should appear. Enter your school user name and Password and click on “Connect.” |
Once the connection is established, you will need to map the drives that you want to see. |
