TABLET PC PROGRAM at SDSM&T
The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Tablet PC Program is required for all incoming freshmen. This program has been a great success and as more people get on board, it gets better. We've had many suggestions and many positive comments on the program. Many of the suggestions have been implemented in the program.
The Tablet PC has all the functionality of a regular laptop plus the screen pivots to become an electronic notepad on which you can write. It is wireless-equipped so that students can access the internet from any SDSM&T classroom or outside on the quad. Students can download any of the specialized software for which the School of Mines has site licenses.
All incoming freshmen will become part of the program and will be issued a Tablet PCs. Each semester a Tablet PC Program Fee will be charged to each student that pays the costs associated with the Tablet PC and the Tablet PC Program. SDSM&T has hard-wired computers available for use in our general purpose computer labs for upper classmen. There is an Opt-In procedure for upper classmen or transfer students who wish to be part of the SDSM&T Tablet PC Program.
